Watercolor, painting, decorative gourds
Hello! I am a relatively new painter. I have done oils in the past, but have found a new love in watercolor. After retiring from the banking world in 2016, I found a new hobby that I truly love and enjoy.
I have always liked to color as a child. In fact, in grade school we were told to paint a picture with tempera paints. I painted a large flower and didn’t really think about it. My teacher put the picture up on the board as the best example of blending. I didn’t even realize it was mine until she told me!
My early years were spent between Milwaukee and Merrimac, WI. My father had purchased land on Lake Wisconsin, so we spent all of our free time there. I still own the lake home and enjoy the time my husband and I spend there.
My husband Ed and I have been married for 49 years and have two adult children, David and Beth. We live on a 60 acre farm near Blanchardville WI.
We winter in Green Valley AZ. We have made many exceptional friends and feel very blessed to be able to have three homes.
I do many activities in the winter in Green Valley. I belong to the GVR Amigas, The Clay Studio and the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild. I enjoy playing Mahjongg, Mexican Train and Hand and Foot with my friends.
I love the blending of colors to make it more real. Inspiration comes from photographs my husband and friends have taken. Or something that I see that intrigues me. If there is something you would like painted, you can always send a picture, and I can see what transpires.
I am an Amateur Radio Operator and have the FCC license of W9RNF. I enjoy DXing (which is contacting every country in the world) and belong to the Madison DX Club and the Green Valley Amateur Radio Club. I also belong to the American Radio Relay League and the Young Ladies Radio League.
