I thrive on the process of making and creating. Working in clay provides an opportunity to create functional art that I enjoy looking at, enjoy holding, and enjoy using. Many of my wheel-thrown and hand-built stoneware pottery pieces are largely inspired by the harvests of home gardens and farms, and thus the name, Garden Harvest Pottery. You may notice my nod to farms and gardens in the split-rail pottery baskets, as well as bottles and vases designed to hold freshly cut or dried owers. And, of course, in a variety of other pieces — plates, bowls, cheese plates, and more — for serving food prepared from farm and garden harvests. I’m especially intrigued by the forms and textures of leaves and create pottery platters and plates from specially selected rhubarb, cucumber and hosta leaves. I appreciate other textures, too, and enjoy incorporating them into other pieces. All of my pots are food-safe and with care can be put in a conventional oven, microwave, and dishwasher. I hope you will enjoy using Garden Harvest Pottery pieces as much as I enjoy making them.
