Michelle Marx

My name is Michelle Marx and I was born and raised west of Madison in the Wyoming Valley in Dodgeville WI. I attended the Graphic Design program at MATC after high school, as I have always had a love for art and design. I married my husband Rick in 2001, and 6 years later we were blessed with our amazing son Luke. Shortly after our son was born, my husband gifted me classes to learn how to create stained glass at a local studio. I have now been working in stained glass for well over 15 years, I am hooked. Our family has lived in Oregon for years now, where our son has attended school since he was in 4K. My glass studio is in our home basement, where my wonderful husband and I work alongside each other, as he works on many numerous wood, metal, and other various projects. Often times you will find my work is a collaborative effort with my husband using his work of wood or metal, etc.
I do not work in themes or really have a specific artistic method in my work. I let the glass speak for itself in using the textures, colors and hues to make my projects stand out. I love working in the outdoors in my garden, so many of my pieces are meant to be used or placed outdoors to add bright, colorful pops of color to your house or yard. I create my designs based on what color glass best speaks to me.
